Debra Cassara

Associate Attorney

Debra Cassara joined Ferguson Law Group as an associate after more than two decades of dental practice management, real estate development, and real estate leasing. She has experience negotiating employment agreements, associate contracts, partnership agreements, dental practice acquisitions, real property leases, and financing for small business mergers.

Her goal is to help clients navigate the complexities of law that accompany the accumulation of wealth through a person’s life. She offers generational estate planning, business succession planning, general tax advising for both business and personal taxes, and commercial real property advising.

Born and raised in San Jose, California, Debra graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in speech communications. She then graduated on the Dean’s List from Santa Clara University School of Law in December 2018.

While in law school, Debra received awards as the top student in Family Wealth Management, Federal Income Tax, Business Organizations, Professional Responsibility, Labor Law, and Law Practice Management. Debra interned with Ferguson Law Group and is excited to return to the practice as an associate attorney.

Debra also holds a Master of Arts degree in theology from Santa Clara University’s Pastoral Ministries program and has taught ethics and scripture classes at Archbishop Mitty High School for over a decade.

Debra is a member of the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section, the Tax Section, and the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association. She is also a member of the California State Bar working toward a certified specializations in estate planning law and taxation law.

Debra lives in Los Altos with her husband Joe. She has three adult children, Julianna, Monica, and Paolo. Debra enjoys mastering one new skill per year, travelling with her family, adventuring outdoors, and reading.
